5 Nature Wedding Stationery Ideas in a Modern Vintage Style
So many of my wonderful clients come to me looking for stationery with a connection to Mother Nature, because there’s something about the natural world that really has the power to connect us all, isn’t there? Giving the gift of a joyful bunch of flowers, gazing up at a twinkling sky of stars or hiking for our favorite views are all experiences we share with one another, with the simple goal of revelling in the beauty that naturally occurs around us. Bringing the essence of this to your nature wedding stationery, crafted with love in my signature modern vintage style, is always exciting - not only because the results are gorgeous, but because there are so many possibilities. So, my wonderfuls, here are 5 ways to bring the great outdoors into your wedding stationery; Scribed by Sophie style.
Florals, foliage & forests
I love floral nature wedding stationery so much I wrote a whole blog about it recently, so it’s only right that it gets another mention here! To me, floral designs don’t just mean all-over patterns blooming with flowers - I also think of delicate foliage illustrations, your favourite garden captured on paper, echoes of the forest and forays into the jungle, each with varying levels of abundance to offer.
Florals are ideal for destination weddings or those in your home country, and I can even work with your florist to mimic the real deal in your invitation and on the day stationery. Whether we pick out the peonies in your bouquet or the palm trees swaying in the distance at your venue, you’ll always have a gorgeous memento of your day to keep.

The scenic route
Depicting scenery in your nature wedding stationery really adds a unique layer, particularly if we go down the route of an all-over landscape used as a background or cover for your invitation suite. In my semi custom collection I have a handful of scenery ideas for inspiration, including a whimsical coastal vista, a snowy winter’s day and a wildflower meadow. This option is lovely for bringing the essence of the place you met, your favourite holiday destination, or a meaningful spot for the two of you - your guests are invited to join you there in paper-and-print format.
Birds and bees
I absolutely love illustrating little birds and animals on wedding stationery, and some of my semi custom examples feature frolicking insects and butterflies, woodland dwellers such as deer and rabbits, and soaring birds. We can add these very subtly to a hand drawn illustration so that they seamlessly become part of the design, and they can produce a very feminine and gorgeous end result.
Other ways to weave in Mother Nature’s fauna in your nature wedding stationery is to depict a pet or beloved four-legged family member - watercolour illustrations of pet dogs are always popular!
Fruits and veggies
It’s the hottest new wedding trend in 2025, and I don’t see it going anywhere for 2026! Replacing or enhancing floral designs at weddings with fruits and veggies is an absolutely gorgeous way to include nature in different forms, and we can echo this in your stationery design in so many different ways.
This gorgeous Burncoose House wedding shoot featured a pearls & pears theme, and I’ve also designed a pretty stationery set around olives - but the options are limitless! Traditionally thought of fruits such as strawberries and lemons have always been popular in design, but now the boundaries are being pushed and we’re seeing absolutely everything turning up at weddings - cauliflowers and artichokes included.
Don’t forget that cherry red is all the rage this year as well, and you can find out my favourite ways to use different shades of this tone in your wedding stationery here.
Fabric signage, displayed in nature
My final idea to inspire your nature wedding stationery is with my range of fabric signage now available to order. These soft, flowing designs look absolutely gorgeous when displayed outdoors, draped in front of hedges or hanging from trees, blowing in the breeze…because of their material they get caught up in nature’s whims, which is exactly what they were designed for.
If you’re looking for a modern alternative to traditional wedding signage, why not consider ordering a dynamic fabric version - you can wrap them up and store them much more easily too, allowing you to hold onto them forever as a reminder of your beautiful day.
