Ice blue wax seal for wedding inviations

Ice blue wedding stationery

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…with my ice blue wedding stationery designs, I’ve got three of those covered for you through my modern vintage style. Blue is going to be a Pinterest-perfect colour for 2026 weddings, so if you’re choosing to embrace the trend I’ve put together five ideas based on my previous work. Whether you’re a fan of sky, sea, duck egg or cerulean, every design can be adapted to your preferences - get inspired and get the creativity flowing!

Helen and Oscar’s bookish ice blue wedding stationery

For all the literary lovers out there, Helen and Oscar’s wedding might just become your new latest obsession - and it’s a gorgeous example of how ice blue wedding stationery never needs to look cold or uninviting. What’s more welcoming than a vintage bookstore vibe, after all?

I used the blue tones in various different ways, sometimes as the star of the show and sometimes in a supporting role for the delicate illustrated florals that matched Helen’s dress perfectly. Their table numbers and order of service booklets for the church were crafted in a lovely frosty hue with gold detailing (a winning colour combination, if you ask me), and their floral edged table plan used blue lettering to guide everyone to their seats. The final little detail was the silky blue tassels I added to the personalised bookmark favours - ‘something blue’ for the avid readers in their lives to remember their special day by!

Ice blue wedding stationery done subtly - muted tones by the sea in Cornwall

What better excuse to use the colour blue in your wedding stationery than when your wedding is taking place beside the sea? Above The Bay in Falmouth is a beautiful venue that allows you to say your vows with the English Channel in view behind you, so for the wedding invitations it seemed only right to pull the colours of the water into play.

This is ice blue used subtly in a more muted way, and woven through an illustrated floral print that anchored the design throughout. For this wedding invitation suite I used blue victorian floral line art, edging the invitation with a delicate pattern, and a floral painted illustration that really tied in those blue tones and created a stunning overlay.

Elizabeth and Ajit’s wedding in Sligo - an ocean landscape

Next up in my collection of ice blue wedding stationery inspiration is Elizabeth and Ajit’s wedding at Markree Castle in Sligo. For this, we really embraced the ocean theme rather than giving it a subtle nod, and it came out beautifully if I say so myself - soft tones combined to make something truly impactful and powerful, much like the frothy waves that break on the beach come together in the formidable ocean.

Let’s start with those glorious envelope liners, shall we? I adore an envelope liner because it’s a really easy way to take your wedding mail and make it feel completely luxurious. An illustrated seascape complete with cloudy sky and foamy waves formed the liner of the envelopes, and the same landscape was echoed in the delicious vellum wrap that held the different elements of the stationery suite together.

Other Scribed by Sophie designs that would look amazing in ice blue:

I’ve been browsing through some of my designs, and picked out a couple that I think would work really well if we took the colour palette and gave it a blue hue. You can always ask me to adapt any of my previous designs to fit different colour schemes - my semi custom wedding stationery options can all be adjusted for colour and, if you like different elements of different things you see on my site, we can always create something bespoke.

This large fine art floral illustration design was crafted in a pretty pink colour for a Parisian wedding, and would take being transformed into ice blue tones beautifully - complete with blue silk ribbon, and my Aurora vellum overlay…yum!

I also so enjoyed crafting bespoke wedding stationery for Perishma and Nikhil’s wedding, complete with pretty yellow and pink flowers and gold detailing on their table plan, table names and menus.

The colour palette was gorgeously striking and worked perfectly for their Gujarati wedding, but I could also imagine it with the gold swapped for ice blue and being so dreamy for a winter wedding - those frosted acrylic elements are so versatile.
